An interactive tool to calculate fertile days on the Office on Women’s Health (OWH) website, Womenshealth.gov.
The first tool developed for OWH was one of the first digital projects I art directed at Palladian Partners. The team identified a need for a trustworthy and simple tool to help women calculate their ovulation date and fertile window on Womenshealth.gov. After the content strategist created wireframes, the designers—Rob Walker Jr. and Katrina Villavicensio—were tasked with styling the tool to match existing website elements. They designed a clickable calendar and drop down bar, introducing new, but intuitive functionality to the website.
The ovulation calculator launched in early 2019, and was featured by Google in March. By April, it became the third-most visited page on Womenshealth.gov, with 73,611 page views. 85% of visitors clicked the “calculate fertile days” button. Currently, the tool appears as the fourth result when searching “ovulation calculator” on Google.
